Can I use other beans in this recipe?
You can! We have also tried this recipe with chickpeas. You may also like to try these other bean dip recipes: Cannellini Bean Dip or Red Kidney Bean Dip. This dip will keep in the fridge for three days so it is easy to make ahead.
400g can of butter beans
1 ½ tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice – freshly squeezed
1 garlic clove
A little water – if too thick
Sea salt and black pepper – to taste
Freshly chopped parsley
Drain and rinse your beans, and add them to a food processor, along with the garlic, olive oil and lemon juice.
Blend the bean mixture – adding a little water or lemon juice as necessary – until it is smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Serve, and garnish with parsley and cayenne pepper.
